How to Plan Party Events.
You can be the
master of how to plan party activities, games, themes and
ideas.
So,
lets have a party. Not an average party, but one of those parties
where everyone says, "lets get together, and do this again!"
A great party event does not need to
be expensive. As a matter
of fact the best parties are often the least expensive.
To have a successful party you need some
-
Fun
icebreakers
- Small
group games or activities
- Optionally a unique party theme
and a few homemade
party decorations.
When you think of how to plan party events,
consider the basic
parts of any party
- Invitations
- You can quickly and easily create your own unique, and FREE Party Invitations in just a
few minutes. At very little cost, you can impress your friends with
professionally printed, and ver unique invitations.
-
Arrival
of guests - Most of the time this will span 15-30 minutes.
Some will be early, most will be on-time, and some will be a little
late. It is OK for early arrivals to simply "hang out" until the other
guests arrive. Early arrivals are generally curious to see what things
will look like, or close friends who want to see you before the crowd
arrives. A good way to accommodate both types is to ask if they would
like to help with last minute preparations. The bulk of guests will
arrive within 10-15 minutes of the “official” start time. As the mass
entrance subsides, it is a good time to transition into your
icebreakers.
-
Icebreakers
- How to
plan party icebreakers is an art unto itself. Try some short
activities or questions to help people get acquainted and engaged with
the group. Icebreakers are also good time fillers, when you are waiting
for late arrivals. Groups that know each other, and get together often
may not need an icebreaker. If you are not sure, do something short,
simple and fun. Good icebreakers are always entertaining, so go ahead,
even if it is a group that gets together regularly.
-
Refreshments,
or meal - Food is a great social icebreaker. How to plan
party food can take several different paths. It is a good bridge from
arrival and introductions to the central activity of the party. Whether
it is a meal, or simply drinks and finger-foods, it is a part of your
theme and as memorable as the main activities. Depending on the group,
it might be fun to have "pot-luck" where everyone brings something. A
"pot-luck" has several advantages: * people are more likely to be on
time, * they will feel like a part of the preparation, * a bigger
variety of food and drink, * it will save you some money.
-
Main
activities - The core activities of your party, may be games,
a discussion, a sports
event, or entertainment. This is the main reason you invited
people to your party, and the reason you selected a theme. How to plan party
activities will be the main part of your party planning.
-
Ending the party - How to
plan party endings can take as much creativity as any other part of
your party. You need to have a definite end to the party, but you don't
want your guests to feel rushed. The right ending will have people
headed home at the right time, and they will be looking forward to your
next event.
How to plan party activities can be a little
intimidating the
first couple times. But it is really not that difficult. Once you have
done a memorable party,
you will thoroughly enjoy your reputation as a wonderful host or
hostess. After that first success you will see how easy it really is,
and you will look forward to the opportunity do it again. The good
news is, your guests will look forward to your next party as well.
How to plan party decorations is not as difficult
as it may seem.
Remember, the decorations are not the center of your party. They are
merely accents, to set the mood. Some homemade party decorations and
invitations will get your guests in the mood, without killing your
budget. Decorations are fun to look at, but the activities and
interactions will be the real life of the party.
Your party might be centered around a sporting
event, concert, or
other major event. How to plan party events that focus on attending
an event are the simplest parties. Your small group may gather for
refreshments or a simple meal before leaving for the event. An indoor
"tailgate party" will be a great way to handle going to an
event as a group. With access to discount
event tickets, your group may choose to buy tickets
individually,
