Balloon
Games.
Here are several balloon games that will be great
home party games for young and old alike.
First some balloon trivia. Ask your
guests
- What the first balloons were made of
- When balloons were first made
- When balloons were first made from rubber
For the answers to these questions and much more
information about balloons than you would ever want to know, check
the balloon history page.
Balloon games work best with balloons that are
about 85% full. Blow up the baloons until there is just enough tail
left to tie a knot.
Balloon
Juggle
Divide your party into teams of 3-6 people. Give each person a balloon.
When the facilitator says go, all baloons must go in the air. Each
group must keep their balloons in the air. After about a minute, add a
balloon to each group, then another, and another, until the first group
drops a balloon on the floor. If you have more than two groups, keep
adding balloons to each group, until there is only one group left.
Balloon
Frantic
Each participant gets three balloons. Mark each participant's balloons
with his/her initials, or some identifying mark. When the facilitator
says go, all balloons must go in the air. Each individual is
responsible for keeping his/her balloons in the air. When a balloon
hits the ground, the owning participant is out. Encourage participants
to stay close in order to confuse and crowd the competition. A more
difficult variation would be to keep the balloon airborne using feet
and knees only.
Balloon
Balance
When the facilitator says go, each participant balances a balloon on
the tip of his/her finger. Participants are not allowed to dribble, or
bounce their balloon. It must be kept on the tip of the finger at all
times. The last one balancing a balloon wins. A more difficult
variation would be to balance the balloon on top of the head, or on the
tip of the nose.
