How to Plan Party Activities.

How to plan party activities is the most important part of any gathering. Will you be playing games, having a discussion, or attending an event? Whatever you choose you will want to do some prior planning, so your event maintains a level of interest from start to finish.

Here are some small group games for an evening of fun around a table. These are also great family reunion games.

Some Tips to be a Successful Activity Leader

  • Be where everyone can see you and get everyone's attention.
  • Be sure everyone knows what is going to happen.
  • Plan your activities to flow smoothly from one activity to the next.
  • Arrange competing teams so they are equal in strength and skill.
  • Change the activity before the group gets bored.
  • Change the rules to meet the situation.
  • Learn to use whatever materials are available.
  • Be enthusiastic. Not giddy, but anticipating everyone will enjoy the activity.

Fun group activities

Check the links on the Party Themes page for activities associated with various themes.

The Toxic Waste Game is a great small group game that requires teamwork and communications.

Balloon games are fun and exciting for guests of all ages. Try them for some great entertainment.

Card Party Game Ideas.
Golf is a fun, and easy to learn card game. There are several versions. My personal preference is 9-card Golf.

Hand and Foot is a little more complicated card game. It is similar to Canasta, and is best played in groups of four.
